ARE YOU KIDDING ME! im from freehold too, i went to st rose. he sings this live much better then the album. the way he almost screams darkness on the edge of town for the last line of the song is incredible...doesnt do that on the album version thats for sure

I agree with you MM, seems to me like he is just going through the motions! I'm so happy he saves his best for the European legs! A commited and forever Irish fan of the "Boss and The E - Street Band"!

On The Darkness on the Edge of Town album, he sings this song with CONVICTION, & Heart. But, I can understand why The Boss sings this song's verses so differently........ Because, "HE CAN" ! ! ! ! ! ! He's #1.

No way...don't sing it like this! You absolutely don't need to "re-interpret" this song for us. In case you forgot, we were the ones who helped make you big by buying your records and paying to see you perform. I am going to listen to the recorded version now. Bye.
