@6891man You Welcome.
-
@th19880 YES! THAT'S THE ONE! THANK YOU SO MUCH!
-
@6891man type in 03/25/2001 michigan state vs temple they have the animation sequence you are talking about.
-
Today local stations along with sponsors buy all the tickets so that they can put the game on the air. A practice that is frowned upon but allowed by the NFL because they want fans to see the game in the stadium.
-
Wow. I remember that dolphin/giants game. It was in miami, and the dolphins won.
-
Excuse my ignorance of the blackout rules: the team in my area, the Patriots, haven't had a game blacked out since '93...oddly enough the year CBS used these animations.
-
@bakerandbaker1 for the preseason, yes. You just can't do it for a regular season game.
-
Stations can do that? I just assumed that if a game was blacked out fans wouldn't be able to see it at all.
-
@bakerandbaker1 That had to have been a preseason game that didn't sell out, hence it was tape delayed. This is all patched together, but what a great promo.
The music was great, but the animation sequence in the early 2000s (with the basketball shooting lightning bolts into the arena) was the best. If someone could post that animation sequence, they would be my friend forever! :D

The current (circa 2004) CBS NCAA basketball theme is basically a severly watered down version of this theme.
