  • ALERT: I just discovered that the profile picture for "onecuterhd" who was posting personal attacks and misimformation here matches the FACE in the profile picture on another prominent social networking site for a MICHAEL POLENSEK.

  • As 2007 President of the Nottingham Civic Club, a non-political and non-sectarian organizations, I actively encouraged people with diverse opinions join and participate in discussions.

Councilman Polensek had traditionally taken over the meetings and used them for his own political purposes.

    You are "fairly certain"?

You need to do a little fact-finding before you shoot off your mouth.

But the law is different for phone conversations - that comes under the heading of wiretap, for which you need a warrant.

Yes, you had the audible "beep", but I did not hear your disclaimer at beginning that the conversation would be recorded. I'm fairly certain that you must have the disclaimer/warning. After that, the beep may not even be necessary.

In any case, the councilman was wise to not make a big issue of it - it would have probably been his undoing.

    How was H-Court?

#1, there's no excuse for a public servant to behave that way with a citizen. Completely wrong. I'm surprised this didn't get more mileage.

#2, I believe you're mistaken with respect to Ohio recording law. Unless something changed, we are a "1-party state" with respect to recording conversations. You are correct - as long as "one party" in the conversation knows, it is legal. And typically, the person doing the recording counts as "one of the parties".

  • Hmmm.......

Strange how I banned one Poster, and about three or four disappeared.

  • Note: The author of several comments here (onecuterhd) left several comments here with erroneous misinformation.

It was after I refuted that information with a respectful reply that he removed his own posts here rather than admit his mistake.

    He is now banned.
