  • I think that the term deaf is an adjective that is pathological. Decibals of hearing loss and its need for remedy: amplification or cochlear implants (CI). The term Deaf with the uppercase D is a collective term as in Maryland School for the Deaf, the Model Secondary School for the Deaf, the National Technical Institution of the Deaf. It is a very formal term that define deaf people as a group. The sign DEAF is a gloss that is about our language and culture. See the difference? ~ Carl
