Watch in HD! This is a timelapse from 7am until 9pm of Typhoon Nangka hitting Hong Kong. Check out the rain walls at 0:50, 1:10, 1:45, 4:10, lights going up at 4:30. Its interesting how the clouds change direction while the typhoon moves from the south to the north-east (camera looking north).

This was recorded with a Canon 50D and a 17-55mm 2.8 lens. I switched off the Autofocus, Image stabilizer, set the ISO to fix 100 and left the aperture/exposure to automatic. Also a black cloth was taped to the window and hung over the camera to avoid reflections in the window from the lights in the room.
The Camera was connected to the PC with a USB Cable and to power with a AC-Cable. The Canon software was steering the camera to take 1 image ever 20 sec. It took almost 5000 images with 1MB per image (=5GB of Data). One issue was that the vibrations from the exposure de-focussed the image over time.

i saw the buildings under the weather could explain insides the minds of your people. weather and 視聴覚 環境 often effects the inhabiters so much. the music on this video is also very much like the one you 香港 居住者 prefer, isn't it? it's very different to where i'm, now.. but still i hope i can feel and understand you better day by day. the surroundings for HK is changing all the time like in this vid.. and so i like to be closed. i can see the lights.
wow...I feel so ashamed! i have lived here all my life but i never really realisd the beauty of HK! Hk look so mysterious in the rain!! And i always complained how serious light poluution in Hk is, but when the lights are up, MY home looks like diamond!!thanks for sharing!sometimes,ppl needs to be reminded to see how fortunate u are....身在福中不知福oh!
Nice cruise ship arriving Star Ferry Terminal at 0:05 and departing at 4:55. Too bad for the passengers who were in that ship and were about to explore Hong Kong :(
