  • thats a pretty monitor

  • how cool

  • @crocdoc2 thank you, hope your monitor lives long and well :D

  • @zandyinc ridge-tailed monitors, Varanus acanthurus (also known as 'ackies') are great first monitors. They don't get huge but have all of the attitude and interesting behaviour of the larger monitors, without the damaging bites.

  • @crocdoc2 thx, what type would you recommend for a noob?

  • @zandyinc It all depends on the species of monitor, the individual monitor and the circumstances. The lace monitor in this video is a very calm individual, but wouldn't hesitate to bite if you moved your hands near its head at feeding time. This species has extremely sharp teeth, so the pain of the bite would be the least of your worries - the physical damage could be permanent.

  • @crocdoc2 but is it common and does it hurt

  • @criaderoseba ha, of course. Silly me.
