It's Windy here (Wa state) but even then, the wind never sits still so the power and voltage is always moving while MPP Tracking a Bergey XL.1 wind turbine. 250V Classic. This is a pre-production Classic and for this test case, the current limit was brought up to 90+ Amps. This is why a Clipper is normally needed because when the batteries get full, or the Classic runs up against current limit (normally 62A for the 250V unit), the input voltage can go into the "HyperVoc" zone, which is higher than the maximum operating voltage. The maximum HyperVoc rating of the Classic 250 is around 300 Volts, with 48V battery, but this units input went to around 350 Volts at times tonight. If it is only current limiting that is the max factor, there is a simple method for stacking more than one Classic in parallel for higher current operation if wild AC is available. When available, the MidNite Clipper connected across the wind turbine and communicating with the rest of the system over the MidNite Network will keep RPMs and maximum voltages down when batteries are full or current limits exceeded.
