What does this salesman take us for MORONS!!! OF course a 640x480 monitor will have 1 million effective pixels. If it didn't it would be monochrome (you need 3 pixels RGB) for each actual pixel. That comes out to about 921K pixels (307K of each kind).
It's like he's saying that a car that get's only 10 m/g gets nearly 16 km/g, that's right nearly twice as much... be amazed.
Taking that into account you should take everything else this moron says with a grain of salt.
