  • @siddbastard thanks mitt you bought and paid for piece of flip flopping piece of shit

  • @paynej47 Don't worry, "he's on to them". And as soon as he is elected office, they will elicit phone sex from him.

  • monitor Al Qaeda's calls? I don't think they have caller ID......

  • I'll waste loads of money just like Lord Mush, and I'm Newt Romney and I deport this massage?

  • @MaximumSanguinello If you know the context of the scriptures he used so well, and what the average muslim's take on it is, then sure, s'all extremism for all I care. please don't state absolutes like this without referring to a source that confirms it, it's annoying and slows down conversation.

I meant comparing the middle east to Europe/USA

  • @Bleumange Sorry I don't follow that argument? Which states do you think are being compared?

The problem I have with all this rhetoric about extremism is that there isn't (wasn't) anything particularly extreme about say Osama Bin Laden's reading of the Qur'an he read and preached it rather accurately. Those ARE the ideas which it promulgates rather than wild obscurations as is often made out.

  • @MaximumSanguinello So basically, I have a problem with politicians blatantly dismissing islam as the 'root cause' of their retaliation to invasion, by comparing feudal, fundamentalist states to a reasonably secular democracy, and by setting this bar they can make their enemies seem as primitive or inferior as they want. They have reserved the title of "extremist" to muslims only, when they're actually comparing apples of different ripeness.

  • @MaximumSanguinello Yeah, my point was, that Islam isn't a religion which has suffered (irony intended) many years of democracy, and that the anti-islamic attitude basically criticizes Islam for expressing their religion, when a true christian who takes every word of the bible as fact would have very similar tendencies, while somehow completely missing the purpose of separation of church and state. Christianity is just as much of a social movement as Islam (even though it'd be vastly socialist)
