This might be okay, if you're a little kid.
Make it darker, give the boy a tragic past like American McGees Alice. Ditch the Jellybeans and Have the Blob feeding on peoples life fluids while they scream in agony, leaving a dessicasted corpse. Throw in some badass weapons and have the kid spouting one liners. Have them journey through gritty urban landcapes and throw in some T&A
Give it an M rating and THEN we'll talk.

What the fuck I remember the original was hard as shit... now there's like what 4 jelly beans and it walks you through the whole level. I need to buy a Nintendo again just so I can play some decently hard games. Only game I can say was hard is Ninja Gaiden on Xbox which was just as hard on the Nintndo. Not knocking any new games or anything but its just not the same as back in the day.

@mistoroboto Look, as an artist (and one dating an AI programmer), I understand the importance of using word of mouth and pollenation online to simply get your work, be it art or a game, out there to be enjoyed. But there's a line for that when it's a game or book or whatever that is meant to be for-profit to pay bills, etc. A Boy and his Blob isn't like an indie game where you can donate if you feel like it. If you are working in the industry I can't understand how this wouldn't frustrate you.

@stephalopod It's a load of crap and you're quick to use ad hoc insults to make your point. Programmers, such as myself don't agree with you. If I let someone borrow a copy of my game, the same thing happens, they don't pay for it, but they enjoyed it either way. Sharing coyprighted material only serves to promote a product, not hurt it. Please stop purporting bullshit lies and being a greedy mother fucker.

@mistoroboto As for crappy games, well yeah, there are crappy games out there same as there's crappy music and movies. Doesn't make someone downloading a good game, movie or song any less damaging to the industry. I guess if your job was at stake too, you'd feel differently about the issue.

@mistoroboto Used games are not a total profit loss like downloading a pirated game is. Places like GameStop sell new games too and the likelihood that a customer buying (or selling back) a used game will pre-order or pick up a new game is much greater than ripping something off of the internet. Don't go calling me "holier than thou" when you've got the entitlist "everything should be free" card on your sleeve.
-
@stephalopod So what about used games? It's a specious argument so please go put your greater than thou attitude somewhere else.
Game developing studios fail because they make crappy games, not because of pirates.
