Fucking beautiful. That is the saddest, most earnest piece of human expression I have ever heard.

What is the magic of this piece? It is that somehow, in some ineffable way, the melody touches that special part in each of us which is soft and vulnerable and it speaks to us in language that is true, with words we understand without them being spoken. Someone once said that "no man is an island" but he did not hear Miles' group play this as day ebbs and night begins. This and its brother, "Flamenco Sketches" take me from here to there in muted sadness for where I've been and where I'm going.

The Fall has had its say and Winter is just beginning. It's dark by the time I leave work and walk home alone down the streets of the big City where I live, past the faces, buried in the crowd, waiting for the stoplight to change to green, inviting me into the night.
