You know, NCStl576, I agree with you. "Final countdown" made perfect sense because steamers started going to the scrap yard in the 50s. #2 was SO not needed.

bradhig, those PA diesels were stuck in an avalanche for 5 to 6 days, the motors were probably frozen solid.

Why does that train need to be towed by a steam engine? Was there something wrong with the diesels?

Only the 1st song made sense. Because this is supposed to be about the steam-diesel transistion and how the steamers have been reduced to helper & MOW serivices. 2nd song was completely unessecary.
