This is probably the third best cassette recorder ever made. It is in 3rd place behind the DRAGON & CR-7. All three were made by THE NAKAMICHI COMPANY. This RX-505 has the famous flip cassette compartment and it's the top-of-the-line in the RX series for Nakamichi. In this video I'm using a TDK Metal tape. The RX-505 had a retail price of $1549.00 and was made from 1984 to 1993.

  • Really wasn't expecting it to actually flip the tape over.

My old stereo system had the auto reverse function but it was done without flipping the tape over.

This is a really brilliant machine. And I was wondering do you know what that song is called?

  • Wow! When it turns the cassette over-IT REALLY DOES TURN THE CASSETTE OVER! That's neat!

  • @Meanmanmartin2007 Bad to the bone by George thorogood..

  • I have the Technics 9900 and it is pretty bad but I have to agree the 505 is great!

  • what is the price of this deck now ?

  • nice but i bet its a BASTARD 2 repair !!!!

  • Santo dios, he visto pletinas buenas como Technics, Denon, Yamaha... pero esta se lleva la palma! Tiene hasta un calibrador especial.

    ¡¡REALMENTE BUENA!!

  • I did'nt expect the tape to reverse as quickly as that!!!

  • i really want one of these famous cassette decks one i have isnt really as good as this its an old NAD 6140 but i have to say its 30 years old and had some use over the years n still works like a tank, also had a few more modern Denon cassette with loads of features but the sound quality of the NAD surpassed them. Dont listen to tapes all that much nowadays but nice to have 1 though.

  • Got mine when I was over-seas in the USAF and still going strong over 20 years later!

  • they don't make 'em like that anymore.
