  • The entire situation is completely your fault. Taking your dog to the groomer DOES NOT make up for a lack of maintenance on your part. A German Shepard should be bathed and excess hair removed by using a high velocity dryer..................However, this will not happen in one groom, if you are not maintaining her on a regular basis. You are the one that needs to be accountable and responsible for the overall condition of your dogs coat!

  • Sorry but this could happen at any salon anywhere, and blaming an entire company because one groomer did a horrible job is ridiculous.

  • I would rather do it myself than see my dog acting different after I peek him up!

  • I would not want to get my money back I wold go there and blow up that place! But before i would make sure that all the animals are out and safe !

  • As for customers that complain about the price of a groom, I suggest groomers explain in detail what a groomer actually does. Grooming is a physical job that takes a combination of skill, patience and muscle. When a customer complains about fees invite them to spend afew hours with you so they can witness exactly what groomers do all day long and I promise you not only with they not complain about your prices but your tips will increase as well.

  • First off in all do respect, Petsmart and Petco does not train groomers properly. a 6 week course teaches basics but hardly makes one a professional groomer. That being said their is always exceptions to the rule. Some owners bring a dog to the groomer once a year all matted up and filthy then expect things to be done in a certain way and that is not always possible. You should bring a dog in for a groom every 6-8 weeks and some breeds every month.

  • Okay as a groomer I know about the furminator treatment! It is 90% effective if you do it every 6-8 weeks! It is not going to stop your dog from shedding completely and also That is not a blade that they used, it lookes like they scissored it and probably tried to even it with the coat and make it flow from the head into the body. And also there could havee been some poor communication either from you or the groomer or both. Your dog does not look that bad, it could be worse. grows back...

And one more final note: I wish the comments about "oh you don't want shedding, why did you get a GSD?" "You got a "goldendoodle" but don't want it looking like a poodle? Shouldn't have gotten a poodle mix!" would end! They got the dog because they liked their personality/temperament/traits that they have hopefully researched! Who cares if they want to change how they look???? Focus on something other than if someone else hates the hair their GSD sheds...

You can't ever shave a German Shepherd Dog? As long as it's not harming the dog, you do want the owner wants. I've shaved beagles, pugs, labs, goldens, and even a husky. Warn the owner about sunburn, and it's fine. Unless the dog has some health thing going on, the hair should grow back fine. Shaving a dog does not stop shedding, but it does make the hairs that do shed shorter. If owners feel it makes a difference in their home, by all means, shave your dog

Wow, this is the only comment I've liked. I'm a groomer too! The responses on here are just MEAN and abusive really. Also filled with ignorance. Just because she pays someone else to brush and bathe her dog doesn't mean she's lazy. She finds it worth however amount they charged so she can do something else with her time. So what, there's NO service you can do yourself, but don't pay for someone else to do? Ohhh but that makes you lazy then, right? Puh-lease...

  • @iiJessie

That is ridiculous. She was probably shaved because she was matted. Either way, she's not going to FREEZE. She's a dog. Take the sweater off and quit babying her

  • im confused. u wanted a trim on the belly? u would have to shave her belly! on the neck yes it was shaved maybe a bit shorter then neccessary but it didnt look tht bad. the chest was bad i will admit but ladey you are being ridiculus and unreasonable.
