My Story - Jaime

Jaimie's story is about life's resilience. He is a resident in VOALA's Central City Recovery Program. Left to be reared by his aunt and uncle, Jaime lived in a loving home but was pulled into the negative forces of Los Angeles' street life. These forces were his downfall causing him to lose just about everything, but the undying love of his and aunt and uncle. Here, he tells us about the pitfalls of hanging with the "cool crowd," drugs and prison and his quest to reclaim his higher self and life.
