In pursuit of the Ultimate Eco friendly car, Tokyo revealed their new FCHV hybrid a compact SUV which completed a 560 km or about 347 mi road trip from Osaka to Tokyo with air-conditioning on without needing to refuel once.

This car uses Toyota designed FC fuel cell stack which Toyota claims is almost surpassing gasoline engines in power density and is used in Toyota's cars and buses. The energy management system of this car switches between the gas engine and the battery at the optimal time to maximize efficiency.

In the newest FCHV the fuel cell has 25% more fuel efficiency. and has twice as much hydrogen storage capacity.

A release date for this model has not been set, yet.
