Myself playing 3 1800's fife songs. i made this video for a teacher to use to show kids a few songs from the 1800's when she teaches about the military back then.
pros out there? cut me some slack. its hard to retrain yourself to play with braces
sometimes i can play fine with braces, other times not so much. idk
the songs are:
1) the girl i left behind me
2) old dan tucker
3) old 1812
i could find an actual date for old 1812 so i guessed lol
part of the songs are by ear, so if it sounds "wrong" to you? thats why

  • I think it's great! you've captured the rhythm and feel of these old melodies excellently.

  • hey, no it's great, fluffiness is inevitable when playing that fast XD i play flute not fife, but similiar...sort of XD where did you get the music for these from? do you think you could point me in the right direction or at least tell me the notes so I can learn? also, how different is the music of battlefield bands in 1800 from civil war? sorry! joining a re-enactment society, see, and i wanna be in the battlefield band XD anyway! thanks for the upload! it's great:)
