This beat is soft as marshmellows, I can't ever see this being played in da clubs. This ain't hip hop -- this is elevator music!
Hi Tek Jay Dilla 0
Lex is a much better producer. Hi Tek's beats are just boring soul loops with some boom bap drums added. Lex Luger won the best producer award at the BMI urban awards 2011. Hi-Tek can only dream of winning such an award.

Let me tell you bout that genre called hip - hop/key characteristics such as rhymes and beats ta make ya head nod/think black thought or nasty nas over pete rock/no c notes hos or cars necessary/cos hip hop is omnipotent spirtually/and it's for the oppressed/not the crazy baldheads or those rockin guess/my hatred for babylon I must express

@Kaleoinstrumentz you right I overlooked it until now I always thought it was a dilla beat^^
-
@9thDilla23 haha no its not. I'll admit im a Dilla fanatic myself, but he didn't produce this.
-
your call remains unanswered like the question you dying to ask/life is a mystery like the guy behind the mask/i treat myself to a trick/tell her hop on my dick and do a trick/i can't help but to maintain my steady flow and smooth delivery/I'll send you on a spiritual quest you'll be expecting a tip like food delivery/I'm asking the lord to please delivery me/any sign of hope or a lady that so hot she'll raise the heat like the statue of liberty

One could very easily mistake this for a Dilla beat. Respect to Hi-Tek tho.
-
It actually IS a Dilla beat pal

@jamekididdleshmiddle actually, dilla was producing for the pharcyde, de la soul and ATCQ before any of us knew who hi-tek was. but i agree that it's easy to say someone's a dilla stan just because they both have a soulful, alternative approach to their beats. i'm sure hi-tek was influenced, but he truly has his own distinct style too.

I thought J dilla produced this too. You can tell Hi-Tek is very inspired by him.
Thin line between inspiration and imitation. they're still writing they're witness statements in the station
