Awaiting a happy ending of the operation "Ófeigur" I made this "movie". It should be a little joke about a Greenlandic bear which came to Iceland to attend Independence Day. (While Iceland declared its independence 1944 Greenland still belongs to Denmark.)
Some jokes have a brutal end.
The polar bear Ófeigur should have been saved. He stayed calmly near the farm Hraun in the Skagafjord in a colony of breeding eider ducks. Carsten Gröndhal, the head vet at the Copenhagen Zoo, had been send to Iceland and was preparing the save on June 17.
The police shot because the bear was running in the direction of the sea. I don't understand in what direction an ice bear must go to be not killed by the Icelandic police.

  • I am upset about the procedure and sad about the dead bears. But I can't understand all the hate. (There are even such kind of people who launch death threats to others and claim to be "animal lovers"). Iceland should provide as soon as possible for its own equipment and its own specialists to deal with the next bear in a professional and gentle way. Iceland is on world's top in many respects - why not in animal protection?

  • The shot it because the Icelandic police never get a chance to use their guns. poor bear. This is third world country behavior.

  • wow those fucking bears were not just sitting there one was runnig twords the next town and the other was a threat to the people that lived there .. and this video is just so fucking stupit .. with the eggs in the presidents dinner and shit like that I mean come on you dumb shit ..

  • fuck you you know not a thing aboud this(haldið kjafti þið vitið ekkert um þetta samt er rangt að skjóta ísbirni)

  • It's cruel to shot them. Shame.

  • Sorry but the Government of Iceland did nothing to save either Polar Bear. Only Bjoergulfur Thor Bjoergulfsson offered help to save the second Polar Bear. The government of Iceland couldn't even clear the area within in 24 hours to keep people away from the Polar Bears. The minister of the environment Þórunn Sveinbjarnardóttir

was the one who ordered the killing of the first Polar Bear.

  • so sad...both polar bears were just sitting and doing nothing when the hunters came to get them.

  • What the fucks in those eggs? Dinosaurs?

  • I hate you.

It was necessary to kill him, otherwise he'd day in the sea of hunger and being too tired.
