Nah, doesn't work. Gibbs free energy isn't high enough.

Pretty much all of them I've gotten from pottery suppliers. Sheffield pottery has very good prices, and a great selection.
A couple are from ebay, and if you look around, you can find very rare oxides such as Erbium or Praseodymium.

What mesh did you use and what ratios?
stoich 4.4:1?

There were only two chemicals, but yes, stoichiometric. Al is 325 mesh, not sure about the CuO.
