Paul Masvidal talks about Death and explains that it's weird for him and Sean to play Death songs without Chuck!

PS: If you have spare time you can check our band (we opened for Cynic in that show): http://www.myspace.com/echidnagr
Thank you!

  • the other night i asked paul how much input he had with human. his exact words were "chuck would paint a picture in black and white and me and sean would give it color."

  • Paul is a real down to earth guy. I wish Chuck was alive so they could do one song. It's not a high demand kinda thing, it's a 'that be awesome' kinda thing'.

Can't wait for the new Cynic album and rip Chuck.

  • RIP CHUCK

  • im glad i started listening to the amazing band death because after i bought the human album i found out who cynic was.

  • @Bassbait a friend told me that paul masvidal is apparently somewhat of a marijuana activist

  • @xenogis Well, the problem with drugs is, it encourages altered writing processes. Most "great" musicians do drugs, and so that fact will create the illusion that drugs are benevolent and create geniuses. It also saddens me to think that many great writers took inspiration from getting high, which I think is completely unnecessary to the process of writing great music. Great music is great music, but if it's all drug induced, then there's a problem.

  • @Bassbait As nothing more than a fan of them I have no clue whether or not they do drugs, but why does it matter in the first place? Drugs have always been a part of being human, even though some people have (strange) reasons for not admitting it.

  • r.i.p.

  • Man that shit made me tear up! Fuck yea Paul!

  • Yeah but Paul and Sean played on HUMAN of all albums which was Death's real breakthrough album (in the sense they caught EVERYBODY's attention) album so naturally a some Death fans know Paul and Sean a little more for being in Death. Also a lot of fans including myself feel like the the Human lineup was one of the if not the best ever. The only lineup that comes close is obviously Individual Thought Patterns followed by Spiritual Healing.

  • now, what exactly happened here??

it's a Cynic concert and some assholes were asking for Death songs?

I would've told the audience to go fuck their mothers!

It's not like they were long time members of Death who decided to go "solo", geez..

It's kind of like asking for Gene Hoglan to play "The Philosopher" on a Strapping Young Lad concert

  • One question, do either of them do drugs?

Don't take that the wrong way, I just need an answer to that question.
