  • Rev.Father John Murrey Abraham was born on 26th. September 1925 in a far place in Canada called Nova Scotia. His Father's name was Arther and Mother Alice. He was from a poor family. The great famine of 1941moved his heart and he determined to serve the mankind. He flew to India in the year 1948. He is the true follower of Gandhi. Since the year 1959 to 1982 he was the head master in St, Alphonsus' H.S. School. He is the man who have changed the face of S.A.S. During 1959 to 1965.

  • I was born in Dumaram Busty & went to St. Alphonsus School. Father Abraham was the Principal and I passed out in 1976. Now I am settled down in USA with my family. In the course of exploring an internet I was able to see Father's photo and click to hear his voice after 33 years through this video. Father you have so many sons scattered throughout the world and remeber you. Thank you Father for all your help to your students and the community. Ningma.

  • I lived just below the Wood-Cot farm in Sepoydhura. I was talking to my folks a few days earlier and was sad to learn that the operations have been closed down which means jobs have been lost. Father Abraham has done a lot for the community.

  • Totally agree with you Nvpatentlawyer.

I was born in Kurseong and all my 4 uncles went to St. Alphoonses School and all four are in good standing now. I have looked up to them during my childhood and still do.

Thanks Father for the thousands you have touched unknowingly.

  • i'm an ex-Goethalite n it was Father Abraham's farm dat provided our skool wid tons of eggs. gotta admit he's one helluva driver tho'.

  • I was honored to spend time with Father Abraham in 1983 when I visited his school in Darjeeling as part of a Rotary Group Study Exchange trip. I am so pleased that he is still living, active and just as charming. What an amazing community he built! Congratulations on a life well-spent, Father Abraham!
