Lethal Poor -'Honour (demo)'
1980s band Lethal Poor were Phil Winter (bass), Steve North (guitar and vocals) and Dave Musker (keyboards, organ, old synths and weird noises).
Formed in London around 1982/83, Lethal Poor tend to be labelled as: Goth-Funk, Dark Wave or Synth Wave.
Dave Musker was an ex-member of the legendary Television Personalities. He later (and while in Lethal Poor) played with the Jasmine Minks.
Phil Winter is now chief noise-maker with Folktronica band Tunng.
Steve North played guitar with funk band Desperate Fun, before forming alt/thrash country noise-shockers If It Bleeds...
Lethal Poor's only vinyl release is 1985's 'Trancefloor'/'Honour' on their own label, distributed by Rough Trade.
This single regularly turns up in the top 100 all-time Goth tracks. This would have amused the band, who at the time, considered themselves more of an avant-garde noise band, with an interest in tight funk and dramatic vocals.
The cover art for 'Trancefloor'/'Honour' was designed by friend of the band Dan Perfect, who has gone on to become a very successful artist.
'Trancefloor' received air-play from John Peel on Radio 1 and sold well in Holland and Germany.
The band played live in London, but never toured.
