If your painting the ceiling and closet, its going to take more than a gallon of paint for 1 room. Two coats of paint on a 10x10 room plus ceiling and closet will use 2 gallons. You might be able to squeeze a gallon of paint on 4 walls in a 10x10 room. It also depends on the texture of the wall, if it's primed, and or if its a dark/translucent color your painting over. Then 1 gallon will not cut it unless you want skips and "holidays" on your wall.
