You are a very brave man, I'm 19, I may need to do this surgery on my underbite. However my jaw problem is a lot less important than yours. I was very worried about it but whan I see you, you give me more courage

I'm having this kind of surgery in 2 weeks, only opposite. My upper jaw is getting expanded (I have a small palate) and my lower jaw is moving forward. Only bad part is one side is longer than the other. I have braces on now (been on since Jan. 2010). Kinda nervous about it. How was sleeping after the surgery? Like post-op at home? And what kinds of foods did you eat? Just trying to get prepared. I get surgical wire and hooks on the 23, surgery's on the 25.

Cost, Cost, Cost! - is what I would like to know. I'm a full time student, and my part-time job employer's insurance company, does not and will not cover any of the costs. Any ideas on how to be able to afford such a procedure. I may also have to wait until I'm thirty years old as well - I'm twenty-seven. My under-bite is slight, but I do have a long face, and a "Jay Leno" protruding chin. Thanks for the video.

@cocoabeans80 how do you get an underbite from an accident? Just out of curiousity.

Can anyone please tell me when you're old enough for the surgery? I'm 14 and turning 15 in 6 days and I can't wait to get rid of my underbite....
Hello. Congratulations on your surgery. I have to have double jaw surgery to correct my underbite. My question is did you experience any bottom lip or chin numbness and do you still have the numbness? If not, how long did it take for the numbness to completely go away?

@OreoPrincess55 Hi I still have numbness in my chin, not much in my lip. Good luck.

Sean im almost in tears because this is something that i have been batteling since i was 8. I was in a major car accident and from that accident I have a class 3 underbite. They also told me that they couldn't operate on me because i was too young and so now Im 30 and iv been praying for this surgery to come soon but its very hard to find insurance that will cover the braces because they are more expensive than the ordinary braces. Im very happy that you had it done!

@cocoabeans80 I sorry it's been so hard. Good luck, with everything. Insurance companies are not cool. Wishing you the best.
