I got to sit and have a beer with him when I was 21 at a tiny shit hole of a bar just outside of Nashville. One of the coolest moments of my life. One hell of a show. I paid $3 to get in. BB King and Buddy Guy just played at the Ryman and the Tickets were $85 a pop. I'll take Paul Wine Jones anyday.

I don't know who is playing with him, but it changes his sound. I like the sound he has on MULE better with Sam Carr on drums. This is more rock than his style of blues. Listen to Bill Abel, his protege and a great player who continues with Paul's songs. There are some youtube videos with Bill...
cheers

I saw this dude in Harvard Sq with RL, wild man

Like this version a lot. Sounds like Cream backing him up or something. Rock beat good for this song.

All music would be better with Sam Carr on drums. He's only about the greatest delta blues drummer to ever live. Sadly never going to get the recognition of guitarist/singers of the genra... sort of like Robert Nighthawk or Earl Hooker in that regard - they played rhythm/backed so many greats in studio and on the road.

Damn this dude is quite good. OK...he's REAL good. Great groove with some funk thrown in. Thanks for posting.
