High fructose corn syrup is the primary sweetener found in numerous foods and beverages such as non-diet soda, baked foods, and condiments. Many food manufacturers prefer the syrup because it is economical, sweeter and easy to blend into beverages. He found high levels of reactive carbonyls that are believed to cause tissue damage through unbound fructose and glucose molecules. By comparison, table sugar does not have reactive carbonyls because its chemical compounds are bound and stable.

  • "...had high levels of reactive compounds that have been shown by other studies to POTENTIALLY trigger diabetes..."

That is not "CAUSES" as you falsely labeled this video. Diabetes was around WAY BEFORE HFCS. I hate this irresponsible witch hunt on HFCS. I want to see scientific evidence that it causes:

    1. Obesity

    2. Diabetes

    3. Heart Disease

    4. Or at least...something. Give me some cold hard evidence so I can hate it, too.

  • @earthpet If u want proof... Keep drinking/consuming it. U will then have all the proof u need. Have fun injecting ur insulin.

  • @MiaX79 I've been consuming it for decades. No diabetes. No insulin. But more importantly, no scientific evidence that it causes any disease. I will gladly march arm in arm with you guys against HFCS. But you have to give me some credible evidence so I don't look like crackpot.

  • @earthpet Try doing ur own research... it's not hard to find the negative effects of sugar and HFCS. Nobody is pulling ur arm on this one. Why is it so hard for u to believe?

  • @MiaX79 Okay. I found GLYCEMIA, STARCH, AND SUGAR IN CONTEXT by Ray Peat. It also looks like fatty liver disease caused by "fructose" may actually be caused by choline deficiency--see Chris Masterjohn. Sugar doesn't appear to be the bad guy after all. It looks like MiaX79 was wrong.

Well, I guess this video will be removed now that it is proven false. It was a nice attempt but ultimately it was incorrect.

  • @earthpet Typical devil! Trying 2 convince people that sugar and HFCS is good 4 them... I really don't have the time 4 U! Thanks 4 ur comments and keep it movin!

  • @hoopz2598 With soda, try to find Mexican sodas. They're sweetened with cane sugar, HFCS. I just bought my first one, an apple soda, today, and I swear, it tastes just like carbonated apple juice!

Also, American beverage companies like Boylan, Johnny Ryan, amongst others, make their sodas with sugar & natural flavors.

Google them. Some may be hard to find, but, the Mexican sodas are usually available at local bodegas or supermarket "ethnic foods" aisles.

  • I am a big tea drinker, and keep consumption of HFCS to a bare minimum. That must be a big reason why I have no health issues despite my weight.

  • Its made from GMO corn.
