I made a mistake saying written by Alexander Hamilton, the writer is "Publius" referring to Publius Cornelius Tacitus who people believe was James Madison's pen name in this instance.

  • James Madison wrote it. Publius, if I remember was the name used for all of the papers. It means Public. All this reminds me of my liberal arts core in college and makes me wonder if great thinkers are a thing of the past in government. Hamilton, Madison etc were not interested in "re-election", they were building a country. A bit different then any type of modern politician IMAO. BTW: there is a journal named Publius, devoted to the study of federalism.....
