Barkley is a happy-go-lucky kind of cat. Carefree and cosmopolitan, Barkley spends his time wandering around the metropolis, exploring different cultures, and of course, eating his way through every restaurant on the Times Critics Choice list. Its a charmed life for this city kitty that is, until a series of eventful coincidences leaves Barkley stranded in a countryside village.

With the help of his new friends, Barkley learns to love his new home and begins to realize the importance of protecting the natural environment. When the evil pesticide manufacturers Pest-Die build a factory in the village, Barkley and his friends begin to notice the harmful changes occurring around their homes pollution in the creek, strange black clouds in the sky, and even plants and animals getting sick. Together, Barkley and the villagers rally against Pest-Die to protect Mother Earth and to save their homes!

Barkley the Cat is a story of collectively striving towards a cleaner, greener future. Observing the connections between humans and animals, cities and villages, young and old, the individual and the corporation, Barkley the Cat explores the critical environmental issues and corporate social responsibilities that are present in our society today.
