hey zak, i am pretty much brand new to being a dog owner and my puppy is about 4 weeks old and i've been looking into training him.. now this clicker training, once i feel my dog is pretty legit and obedient... i dont have to use the clicker anymore right?

can i use a lighter for a clicker ? its kinda noisy and sounds like it

There are 2 reasons to use a pen as a clicker:

1) you want to start clicker training right away and you haven't had the chance to get a clicker

2) you have a shy/reactive dog and he/she is scared of the clicker; you would use the pen to get him/her used to the clicking sound so he/she isn't as scared of the real clicker.

Yea but it's not loud enough it's has to be loud so the dog could hear it if the dog I doing something else so there's really no reason to just use a stupid pen
