ClearedJobs.Net's HR Specialist Patra Frame encourages you to take charge of your future by developing a strategy for your career.

What's your game plan for your career? All of us need to have our own career plan, certainly some companies will help you with that but really it's your career it's important that you plan it.
People who have a written plan for their careers tend to be considerably more successful. So first, put together some goals and write them down then create the action plan.
A critical element of many successful careers is education. I don't just mean another degree, I mean all of the learning that you do formally through seminars, through training programs that your company might offer through educational classes that you might take but also the informal learning you do working on a team, working on a task force, learning from a great boss.
That informal learning is very valuable to your future. If you're a government contractor certainly in that world advance degrees often are quite valuable to your success and you may want to consider them but for many of us it's not a necessity to get another degree. It is a necessity to keep learning throughout your career so that you can move to the jobs that you're most interested in because you have the knowledge, you have the skills, and you have the ability to succeed in each new position you want.
Your plan, your writing, your actions equal your success.
