Molodaya gvardiya (1948) episode

The film is set in the city of Krasnodon in 1942 during the Nazi occupation of Russia. Local teenagers are organizing the underground resistance. The teens manage to outsmart the Nazis in their fight. They blow up the Nazi recruitment offices. Their activity lifts the spirits of the surviving citizens. They organize other school-friends in the groups of five to help the citizens in their struggle for survival. A traitor reports their names to the Nazis. In a massive operation many teens are arrested and killed. But their courage helps many others to survive.

Just got done watching/listening to this movie. Fantastic portrayal of occupied times with vivid imagery. Best part is at the end when all these young adults get whacked for their hysteria. Sadly, what brought the Soviet Union to collapse was multitudenous, but indisputable is the fact that the largest contribution was communism itself. Young Guard is a must have for collectors, it can be had at IHF.com. Cheers and all that rubbish& rot.
