So today, it's all trucks. The tears today are over the cost of running all those trucks, fuel tanks and drivers. Mail is not 3 cents a letter, and the Post Office one of the largest trucking companys in the world is going broke and cutting service and upping rates again to maintain those truck routes. But highway and airline lobby people run the transportation policy. A trillion dollars now in imported oil. A trillion dollars gone forever! Mail should be on Amtrak!

Excellent video. The Railway mail service was a precision operation, the likes of which are unimaginable in today's postal service.
