I mean really, the whole point of the election is to find somebody who will appeal to a broad cross section of the country. The country is really not very fundamentalist-christian or radical-right-wing oriented, which is why Palin would not be a good choice for national office.

Exact numbers? I do not know. What I do is this. Of the 1,000 wrist bands needed to have a book signed all were issued. That entitled the wearer, a spouse or friend, and their children into the book signing event to have their book signed by Sarah Palin (1,000 signings was promised if possible) . And the parking lot area provided in front of the bookstore was jammed full of people just before the doors opened.
