Generac Generators came through for a family in the midwest after a bad ice storm hit their city. For many days the area was out of power and this family had their Generator Generator running through the outage.

  • @outrigger777 Typically on landlines the power for the phones (except cordless handsets that need to be plugged in) is supplied through the phone lines. So if you have a basic corded phone that only plugs into the jack it should still work. The phone companies typically have backup generators to meet their SLA's with customers. Cell phone towers all have generators on them as well.

  • Just got my 14k generac installed. Having lived through 2 north Texas ice storms, and a 5 foot snow dump in Colorado without power, I'm very happy to have this backup. My question though is why don't the phones go down in these situations? The guy in this video mentioned phone calls from his neighbors in the midst of this power outage caused by an ice storm, and in my 3 bad power outages the phones worked. ???
