John Denver on The Kelly Show (UTV, Belfast) - interview.

John Denver is interviewed by host Gerry Kelly on 'The Kelly Show' on Ulster Television (UTV), in Belfast, poossibly late in 1993 or early 1994. They talk about John's appearance (particularly his moustache), his new movie 'Walking Thunder', his autobiography, his environmental concerns and early influences.

The interview ends with John being asked to sing 'Annie's Song', but sadly the clip ends there!

John, I believe, was in Belfast to promote his upcoming concert at Belfast's Ulster Hall on 30 March 1994.

wow i didnt know John was on the Kelly Show,its the nearest tv station to me,cant believe he was in Belfast only an hour and a half away from me and i missed it. I wonder if he was ever on the Late Late Show with Gaye Byrne or Kenny Live with Pat Kenny. This is an absolute gem, thank you for posting this.

He did a concert in Belfast and I never knew!

Too bad the world wasn't ready for John's vision of the brotherhood of man, and the belief in social responsibility of all humankind for the world. He was blackballed by the recording industry and the government because of his activism. How sad for all of us.

Understandable how you missed this in

the 90's. John was struggling then to be

heard and those TV movies he did around this time were badly written, badly directed, and totally disappointing.

Yes, John was struggling to be heard, but I still think I should have heard he was in Belfast in January 1994. I believe he was there again in 1997!

He should have done more and better movies.
