Thai king bhumibol King Thailand The Sportive Monarch

Thai king bhumibol National Sports Day, December 16th, is an important day for the Thai people as it was the day Thailand was honoured to host the 4th Laem Thong Games in 2510. On the very same day the Thai people were proudly cheering His Majesty the King as a member of the Thai national sailing team.
Throughout the race His Majesty the King performed his duties in the same manner as any other sportsmen. To the nations extreme pleasure and pride on the 16th of December 2510 the Thai peoples Sporting Monarch stood on the winners podium to receive the gold medal. This is the first time in sporting history where a monarch entered an international sporting event and won a gold medal.
His Majestys sporting skills are not limited to sailing. He is interested in many other sports in which he studies and practices until he becomes a model for the following generations.
