Part 1 of 5 of Nutnfancy's Tabletop Review and Philosophy of Use with the Sig P226 pistol:
An outstanding pistol design, the Sig P226 is truly an amazing and well-proven gun. It stacks up quite well against Nutnfancy's standard of 9mm pistol measure, the also-excellent Glock 17. Though accepted reluctantly by the American civilian shooter it became an embraced and beloved handgun as it was proven in the hands of the Navy SEALs and with hundreds of law enforcement agencies. That is because, indeed, it is a world class design offering complete reliability, amazing accuracy, toughness, excellent firepower, outstanding ergonomics, and a superb trigger. Many liken the Sig P226 to a Swiss Watch and thats a fair comparison; it is a mechanically efficient and beautiful design. But how does it stack against the Glock 17? Truth be told (and it is here), the Glock holds edges in absolute durability, weight (big advantage at 8 oz), simplicity of operation and parts, firepower, and price but in some cases the advantage is slight. However Nutnfancy maintains both are near equals in terms of reliability, accuracy, ergonomics (very subjective for everyone), and track record. But the Sig for many holds an endearing attraction that is hard to define and quantify. You have to shoot and hold one to understand it. It inspires confidencethat most critical attribute needed for effective combat handgunnery. And for many, that confidence is the tie breaker that makes the Sig their preferred choice in defensive/offensive handguns. It is often called the worlds best pistol.

  • The Browning BDA is a completely different firearm - evolved from the browning high-power - and has nothing to do with the sig design (see the slide rails, frame contours and lack of decocker and compare with the older sig p210). Just thought I'd put it out there.

  • I really enjoy all your video's!! It's because of this video i decided to make the sig sauer p226 my first hand gun purchase. Since then i have added few handguns to my collections from a Springfield XDM, H&K P30, Berreta PX4 storm,. But my Sig is by far my favorite! Thanks Nuntfancy!!

  • Also, I absolutely love the Sig Sauer p226! It's absolutely my favorite gun, although the Sig p229 is really nice in the .40 caliber. I watched all of your Sig p226 reviews and enjoyed them all. I watched them all back to back. After talking my dad's ear off about how often the Sig p226 is, we decided to try it out and are planning on buying one now. Thanks. I just put up some videos of me shooting one. As well as a USP .40 and a few others. I even have a video of me shooting a Desert Eagle! :D

  • Hey I'm Dalton and I just wanted to let you know that my dad and I love your gun reviews. They are unbiased, thorough, and accurate and I really appreciate it. I told my dad about how good your reviews were and he decided to look you up. Now, whenever we have any gun questions, we specifically look for your reviews first. Thank you also for giving our law enforcement and military the props that they so deserve. Please check out my new videos if you get a chance, I understand if you can't. Thanks

Thanks for all your reviews and great information that you provide us TNPers!

  • I know he said lets not go at gaga because the Seals used it... but I can't help it ! Lol the fact that the Navy Seals use it has me sold !

  • Sig p226 tac ops is a great combat handgun

  • I love the P226. Great detailed review. I saw this video about a year ago and have been saving up ever since. I just bought one used a month ago and love it.

  • Sig P226 (.40) is excellent. It's my primary duty gun. Love the weight, feel, reliability. I have put around 5,000 rounds through my sig, and have had one jam (which was after almost 700 rounds without cleaning). I would trust this gun with my life, and DO every day. Great review nutn.
