This looks like the queue of lorries waiting in france to get on a ferry at Easter time. @Hannoi Thats only because they haven't widened the roads to cope with modern traffic. Parts of the M25 around London are 6 lanes in each direction to deal with the traffic flows. Just remember, most of the stuff you buy in supermarkets are brought in from massive food production plants so they can be sold at a cheap price by trucks. No trucks on the road, no food on your table, or if you do, it will be much more expensive and you won't afford the fuel to have a joyride on the autobahn

German Autobahn are almost undrivable these days because of the

truck traffic.

So sundays and holidays are beautiful because the Autobahnen are free for

once!!!

I think, this is because of sunday drivers, who generally can't reach an acceptable speed and an acceptable attitude for the faster drivers, not speaking even about the situation when a police or ambulance car really need to hurry. The result? Truckers sucks. I also understand is forbidden daytime outside the motorways but at motorways i think could go easily and at least during the night.
