Dir. of Youth Outreach for the National Mental Health Awareness Campaign speaks to students at a 2006 college leadership conference. Speaking to thousands of students across the U.S. each year, Szabo's unique and inspiring mission is to promote understanding and eradicate the painful stigma associated with mental health problems. He hopes he can help young adults to feel more comfortable acknowledging their emotional issues and seeking the help they need.

Szabo's highly anticipated new book "BEHIND HAPPY FACES" will release in August 2007.

  • Mental health can mean anything The Clinically Normative Ones want it to mean. In 1910 it was women never wearing pants. In 2010 it is men never wearing skirts. Well shit, what people wear cannot be a biological illness---it's self determination. This is the CULT of "he is insane whom we so deem" and it is dangerous like the Protestant Witch Finders/Witch Prickers & The Holy Roman Catholic Inquisition. These elements always attack individuality & nonconformity as "disease," bunch of NAZIS!!

  • Lol, this is the same speech that I heard him give verbatim this summer.

  • this guy is the best motivational speaker i've ever heard.

i heard him at NYLF med and it was the best "speaker" experience i've ever had.

this video is awesome, but if you ever have the chance to see him in person, don't pass it up.

  • I met this guy and talked to him personally at NYLF. He is a great guy and he knows what he is talking about. His book is great!

  • I am indeed glad that someone is talking about drugs, mental illness and alcohol, but I don't find this guy to be exactly revolutionary. His audience is high schoolers, right?

I think his story is very important, but I guess I just don't connect with him.

  • i liked the overall message im glad someones talking about this shit

  • Awesome i have the book great i rec
