  • Super CFL was one great radio station.I listened to both Super CFL and WLS. CFL ended up beating out WLS for radio supremacy and you can hear why. Never in a million years would I ever think it would go off the air. Someone needs to revive Super CFL. Remember everybody, the only way things change is because people change them, they don't change themselves.

  • This station was "kick ass" back in '73 to '75 ...and I LOVED 'LS

  • Nothing sounded better than SuperCFL and especially with this aircheck(Big Ron O'Brien). Big Ron put a lot of energy and spirit in his broadcasts and this aircheck clearly proves that. Big Ron,those of us that heard you on the airwaves then really miss you today. R.I.P. Big Ron(you're probably spinning records and doing your DJ thing in heaven right now!)

  • @INYOURFACETVSPOTS Yes it was! I like it better than Super CFL, mainly because of the jingles, music and commercials...Also they played local records back then.

  • @tnlance1 well said!

  • WCFL Rocked!!!!

  • CORRECTION: Not from the 1980s

WCFL became a beautiful music station in 1976. It was rock & Roll from 1965-1976.

  • Man...

I grew up on CFL and WLS.

    Good times!

  • I think Top 40/Guitar Rock sounds better on AM, not Rush Limbaugh! This was during the time when we had "guitar rock", kickin the rhythm and the beat. The modern rock/Top 40 of today sounds like crap, and most of the FM Band does! They just had to kill AM in the early 80's so the "new wave/punk" garbage could be mixed with guitar rock. Maybe I'm getting old, but I can't stand today's music radio on FM. AM Radio and the 70's had it going on, good ole Top 40 Pop/Rock! If it was good, play it!

  • "Big Ron" shows us all how to do radio the RIGHT way- I am sorry he's gone

  • Big Ron O'Brien, gone but well remembered, not only in Chicago but in NYC (where he worked at WPIX after leaving CFL) and in Philadelphia, where he spend the last 20 years of his career. RIP Big Ron....radio misses you...

  • @Carl6231 true words thx
