Yerba buena or "good herb" is in the same family of mint, peppermint and the like and other than it's wonderful smell and taste, it has a lot or medicinal uses. Friom that it got it's name.

@kannon9 - even the plant cocaine comes from has legitimate uses. Some of the countries where it grows wild have been lobbying for the laws outlawing it to be changed. If there was a market for the legitimate uses... then the illegal cocaine market wouldn't be so lucrative... hence less money spent on fighting "the war on drugs"... but of course we see what still persists.

@killpath - my family is from the Caribbean and when my grandparents were small they said that ppl would boil it and make tea to give to children who had asthma... Not to mention - people in other parts of the world used the fibers to make clothes/ rope etc. Even the plant that cocaine comes from has legitimate uses...
