Narrator: As governor, Michael Dukakis vetoed mandatory sentences for drug dealers. He vetoed the death penalty. His revolving door prison policy gave weekend furloughs to first-degree murderers not eligible for parole. While out, many committed other crimes like kidnapping and rape. And many are still at large. Now Michael Dukakis says he wants to do for America what he's done for Massachusetts. America can't afford that risk.

i live near the area where willie horton committed his crime. it's kind of strange looking but it's very sad knowing what happened to this kid

the ad was very effective, although it fails to mention these furlough programs were federal, and not run by states... and so bush's responsibility, and not dukakis's. oh well. a lie will get all the way around the world before the truth can get its boots on.
