  • i have the same problem.

it seems like impossible. despite that i do have a good range, when i sing opera.

  • the EH exercise is real fun to do :D

  • Yea, got the same problem as dina...?

  • My normal belting is fine. But my high notes belting is HORRIBLE! How can I make an excersize to help myself through this problem?

  • You dont want any strain on the chords....when the larynx is raised you are using other muscles to sing rather than just the Vocal Folds/Chords. Larynx should be buoyant or relaxed in speech level....so that the throat is open and the air has an open space and passes thru the chords freely...

  • Thanks for this, Ron. It's exactly as I was telling you before when I said I was head-voice trained and so my chest voice is quite undeveloped and trying to figure out how to properly use it on my own is difficult. SLS and your vids and msg's help a lot. so THANKS!

btw I commented to my hubby when Jennifer Hudson sang national anthem at superbowl that it sounded like it hurt - because I cannot do all that in my chest voice like she did! I was like HOW is that not painful??

  • Ron let me start by saying i am grateful for all your videos and man i got so much confidence in my voice i wish i can pay you cause this is too good lol may god continue to bless you and your household have a bless weekend Brother Numero UNO

  • it chokes you ,thats exactly what is happening.. your swallowing basically so your larynx rises, its the equivalent of trying to eat while you sing I would say.

  • thx nice exercise! but why is singing with raised larynx is so bad?
