Take a look inside designer/pro skateboarder Anthony Pappalardo's first installment of furtniture and artwork at The Future Perfect in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NYC. "Virgin White" is his first solo exhibition, it explores the labor intensive process he uses to produce the final pieces of furniture. This collection of handmade benches, created from smallblocks of a variety of common and exotic woods, focus on the graphic and textural qualities of end grain. Filmed 10/9/09.

  • What always drew me to skateboarding was the blend of people who could construct beautiful ramps, and skate them. You know, I remember those days when if you saw someone with a skateboard you were instantly friends. I remember the smell of the skateshop, the new found dignity that didn't integrate itself into organized sports and highschool. When I see Pappalardo designing stellar works, it inspires me to make the world better by making something. Fantastic job. An antidote to idle cynicism

  • good for anthony. doing something outside of skating is always a good plan. not sure why there is so much venom towards this...

  • He left Lakai for the same reason Lucas Puig did, to get paid a larger and more deserving check. Lakai cannot afford to shell out the money to all of it's former riders who should be getting bigger money shoe deals. For the people hating on Pappalardo, you will never be as good as him on a skateboard, you will never have the respect of professionals like him.
