Lotte Malaysia organized the finale to the highly successful Korean Food Festival 2008 at the Lot 10 Shopping Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The shopping mall, situated in the heart of Kuala Lumpur's upscale shopping district and located along the famed Bintang Walk was transformed into a Little Korean Village from December 16-22, 2008. Shoppers made up of office crowd, tourists and Christmas shoppers poured into Lot 10 non stop.
A seven-member Korean traditional drummers troupe was also specially invited to perform daily during the evenings to entertain the crowd.
During the event, all-things-Korean were made available ranging from Korean traditional street-food such as Gimbap (rice stuffed with fillings and wrapped in seaweed), hot pancakes and Kimchi. There were numerous types of snacks available, ranging from Seasoned Laver (seaweed), extruded chips and snacks, confectionery, beverages, cooking needs and aids, and many more items that are not normally available at the general supermarkets. Korea Persimmons, Shingo Pears and fresh Chestnuts were also available. All in the number of sku (stock-keeping unit) exceeded 490 items.
The 7-day event attracted an estimated crowd of 15,000 visitors to the Lotte's Korean Village. Coupled with the joyous Christmas-season mood and decors, the Lot 10 Shopping Centre was certainly in a very festive mood.
