Slant 6 Barracuda "Performance Test"

Just installed new headers and wanted to get a feel for any changes power wise. Either the rear shoes are wearing out or theres more power. :) I have a new off idle hesition I still need to work out though. 1/4 mile time was 15.33 before these changes. Still need to change out the rear gear from 3.07 to 3.55.

That is a 225 that was bored and stroked out to 258. Lots to head work including oversized valves. To learn everything about this motor search Eileen on the SlantSix dot Org site. I sold the motor and its running around in a Dakota. That guys on that site also. The car currently has a 340 V8 in it now.

Sounds like a V8 when the slant six is at idle. Nice tuned indeed.

The slant six is a very good build up and makes a lot of power. The videos on her are blowing away 40,000 cars that are new like a cameross,pontiac gto a new one. The name of the video is mad max slant six this gut is king the v8s. Don't nder estimate the power of the leaning tower of power the buzzing half duzzing and over kill just to name a few nakes the slant six has been called.

Yea but the bore on a 318 is small.

If you bored a 318 0.60 over it would still have a smaller bore than a stock 340 and 360.

But they do last.

@styylite I love both the 318 AND /6. They are both meant to do the job and last forever. The 318 is only 50 lbs heavier than the slant though.
