An apparently simple song from Mr. Big Bill Broonzy wich plays this tune always using the same bass against every chord, giving it a real stiff and hard feel. I've instinctively used alternate basses instead and at the end to my ears the song sounded a little more "swingy" and relaxed than the original take. The color of this National added a little edge to the piece anyway. To me the M-2 is the acoustic equivalent of a good Telecaster electric guitar: a bit hard and harsh to play but with a great presence and personality.
Hey, have fun!
:-)
HEY HEY
Hey hey. Hey hey, baby, hey.
Hey hey. Hey hey, baby, hey.
I love you baby,
Sure ain't gonna be your dog.
Hey hey. Hey hey, baby, hey.
Hey hey. Hey hey, baby, hey.
My arms around you baby,
All I can say is hey.
Hey hey. Hey hey, baby, hey.
Hey hey. Hey hey, baby, hey.
I love you baby,
Sure ain't gonna be your dog.
Hey hey. You lost your good thing now.
Hey hey. You lost your good thing now.
You had me fooled,
I found it out somehow.
Yeeeeaaaahhhh!

You make it look so simple. Trying to learn this song, or is to difficult when you are starting to learn to sing and play? Playing is not the problem.
By the way, do you also play electric guitar or only acoustic?

Great
Do you know another great blues guitar player from Italy called ddking66
He does a great instrumental version of this.
Keep playing and posting.
