I've had some requests for some maintenance work so here you go. I actually like working on this big old beast owned by my friend Bret Schneider who runs the business WOW window boxes, check out his website he does great work and I love promoting my friends businesses.

  • eric can you pimp my astro

  • @keabler77 I HATE working on Astro vans.

  • @Eric can u make a video changing valve cover gaskets on a 3800series2 Buick engine??

  • @TheAllday707 The videos I make are based on what comes into my shop so it's hard to fill requests like yours because I have to wait for the same car to show up with the same problem and I need time to shoot the video. That said if one does show up I'd be happy to try and make a video for you.

    Thanks for your request.

  • we were taught to use pig mats not rags due to the fact the any type of cloth will go through the trans and clog the filter and could ruin the the components i rebuilt about 5 4t60e transmissions in class everyone ran fine

  • @2000mitsueclipse Pig mats are AWESOME, I met those guys at the tool show last year and they make a great product. Thanks for the insight.

  • hey eric. i just changed the transmission fluid in my 93 gmc k2500. and the fuild was brown...idk why or how it got like that but it was brown. and i actually pulled the transmission cooling line off to change out the fluid from the torque converter as well not just the pan. and it was actually pretty easy doing it that way. but make sure you get the transmission line and not the engine oil cooler..yea i did an impromptu oil change on my truck with that haha. have a good one take care!

  • And Ireland

  • Why don't they put drain plugs in trans pans??

  • @keabler77 Does he look like Xibit?

  • LOL ... I hear bells @ 4:40

  • Super informative video. Answered a whole bunch of questions a had regarding this task. Thanks ETCG!

  • Eric, I remember you showing us on your Odyssey van that the filter was well within the transmission. Now, is there a pan on those or does it actually require you to pull the whole transmission out and apart to replace the filter?
