  • Nobody IS discussing how much wealth there is in the UK. Greg Philo is correct, but the wealthy (most senior politicians) don't want us to know *exactly* what is going on.

  • Love this idea. Sadly it is too brilliant for Tory politicians, who would rather rape the rest of the population.

  • Is it me or was the BBC presenter siding with the tories here/ :/

  • @palmerstonian How is this politics of envy? How is it unreasonable to get the richest 10% of the population who have benefited and been the most successful because of the economy to help it when its in trouble. I went to a lecture of Professor Philo's the other day and he stated that this 20% taxation is also progressive. (i.e. the richest of this 10% will pay more than the least rich of this 10%). Perfectly Fair and Reasonable.

  • He talks straight and simply whilst the others avoid it and distract away from the point... its so simple, and they are so uncomfortable.... "the issue is how to change spending to avoid this happening again"... utter twaddle. ...They are not comfortable with this issue, and I have not seen this man on the TV since.

  • Puts things right into perspective.....Notice the Tory is straight in there trying to undermine the professor...

  • excellent video but change the title so it is easier to find, comes up in searches and gets more views @319MUTLEY

  • I'm poor, give all this money to me

  • Tax avoidance = (tax evasion)+(an expensive lawyer)

  • A very good discussion that should also be discussed outside of the TV studios. There certainly is an alternative. Check out the PCS union website for the complete solution. We ordinary people should not be paying for this tax whilst the rich get richer, even though it was they who created the crisis in the first place!

  • Great idea Greg. I am going to visit the Glasgow Media Group website right know and get involved =)

  • @palmerstonian how is this the politics of envy? Greg Philo explains that even the wealthiest people asked on a yougov poll were in favour of it. Everyone in the middle and bottom is paying for the top ten percent; -what is that the politics of palmerstonian, if not greed?
